Car Rental

There are a selection of car rental companies that operate in Florida, and a number of folks who will sell you their services, either directly or via a third party.

A third party supplier we often use is Elle Hubbard at tripwheels.com. As well as being able to get discounts on the standard websites, there is a person available should you have a problem with your car rental on arrival, or during your stay. They are not always the cheapest, but we certainly check their website when planning a stay. They sometimes have additional deals only available by telephone, so you might want to try that too.

Even if you do not use their car rental services, they have a selection of useful information on their website, particularly if this is your first time renting a car in the United States, including rules of the road, a guide to the types of car available for rental and even a guide to what is (and is not) included in your car rental fee.

For an overview of renting a car in the United States, you can also refer to this document prepared by Elle - we hope you find it useful.

Disclaimer: We have no connection to tripwheels.com (other than as a customer) and accept no responsibility for any contact you have directly with them. Your contract, if you enter in one, will be between you and them, we are just identifying the availability of their service.

Tolls and Car Rental

The Sunpass website will tell you what you need to know about Florida's toll roads. They also have an overview of how the different car rental companies treat and charge for tolls. You can read about tolls and car rentals here or by clicking on the image below.
